(Any health-related information you provide is considered sensitive and handled with extra care, as described below).

Important Note: The health and nutrition information collected or displayed in Cart-Aid is intended to support general wellness and lifestyle goals. It is not medical advice and should not replace consultation with a qualified healthcare professional.

How We Use Your Information

We use the information we collect from you for the following purposes:

  • Order Fulfillment: To fulfill and deliver facilitate the fulfillment and delivery of your food and grocery orders through our third-party fulfillment partners, including sharing necessary details (such as your order information, delivery address, and contact information) with delivery services. Cart-Aid does not directly process payments or perform deliveries itself; we coordinate with our partners to complete these orders on your behalf.

  • App Functionality: To track your purchases and activities in order to support nutrition guidance features and overall app functionality (for example, keeping your shopping list or goals updated).

If you provide health-related data (such as nutrition or wellness information), we will use it only to enhance your personal shopping and health recommendation experience. We treat all health and wellness data as sensitive information – meaning it is handled with a high level of privacy and security and not used for any purposes other than those you expect.

Sharing Your Information

We do not sell your personal data, and we do not share your information with third parties for their own advertising or marketing purposes. We only share your information in limited situations to run our services, as described below. In all cases, we work with trusted partners who meet privacy and security standards. These service providers help us operate Cart-Aid but may access your data only to perform their specific functions. We may share your information with:

  • Delivery and Logistics Partners: to fulfill your orders and handle deliveries on our behalf. These third-party partners use your delivery address and contact information only to ensure your purchases reach you order details, delivery address, and contact information only as necessary to complete your order.
  • Payment Processors: to securely handle transaction processing for your orders and any Cart-Aid subscription services. Your payment details are transmitted to our payment processing service provider for charge authorization and are not stored by Cart-Aid beyond what is necessary for record-keeping.
    1. For retail orders placed through Cart-Aid, our third-party fulfillment partner serves as the merchant of record and processes your payment through their systems. Cart-Aid does not store your full financial details for those transactions.
    2. For Cart-Aid’s own subscription or membership services, payments are handled by our payment processing provider, and we retain only the necessary billing information for record-keeping (for example, payment confirmation).
  • Authentication and User Account Services: to manage user registration, login, and account security. For example, if we use a third-party authentication provider for sign-in, your basic account details may be processed by that service solely to verify your identity and protect access to your account.
  • Analytics, Cloud Hosting, and IT Service Providers: to host our application and data, and to gain analytics insights that help us improve performance and understand user needs. This includes cloud infrastructure providers (for data storage, servers, etc.) and analytics services that process usage data in aggregate forms. These providers are not allowed to use your personal data for any purpose other than providing services to us.
  • Nutrition and Wellness Service Providers: to provide nutritional analysis or health-related recommendations as part of our service (if you use these features). For example, if our app offers nutritional information about products or recipes, we may send food data (like an item or ingredients list) to a trusted third-party nutrition database to retrieve nutrition facts for you. Any such provider will receive only the information needed to perform the analysis and is not given identifying details about you unless necessary.
  • Communication and Support Tools: to send you notifications, updates, or support messages. For instance, we might use an email or SMS delivery service to send order confirmations, or a customer support platform to manage help requests. These services will access your contact info or messages only to assist in our communications with you.
  • Legal or Regulatory Authorities: when we are required to do so by law or when it’s necessary to protect rights, safety, or enforce our terms. For example, we may disclose information in response to valid legal processes (like a subpoena) or to investigate fraud, security issues, or violations of our Terms of Service.

Our Approach: We work only with trusted partners who help us deliver and improve Cart-Aid. These partners are expected to protect your information and use it responsibly—only for the specific services they provide to us. We don’t share your data for advertising, profiling, or any purpose unrelated to running our service.

Data Retention

We retain your personal data only for as long as necessary to fulfill the purposes outlined in this policy. This means we keep your information for the duration needed to provide our services and for other legitimate business or legal purposes, such as: completing your orders and deliveries, maintaining your account, providing customer support, complying with legal and regulatory obligations, conducting business analytics and service improvements, supporting health-related tracking features, and resolving any disputes. When your personal data is no longer needed for these purposes, we will securely delete or de-identify it in accordance with our data retention procedures.

Your Rights and Choices

You have certain rights and choices regarding your personal information. Subject to applicable law, you have the right to:

  • Access and Correction: You can request access to the personal information we hold about you and ask for corrections or updates to any inaccuracies.
  • Deletion: You can request that we delete your account or specific personal data, provided we do not need to retain it for legal reasons or to continue providing you with services you’ve requested.
  • Opt-Out of Marketing: You can opt out of receiving promotional emails or messages from us at any time. Simply follow the unsubscribe instructions in those communications or contact us directly to be removed from marketing lists. (Please note you may still receive transactional messages about your orders or account updates even if you opt out of marketing.)

To exercise any of these rights, please contact us at privacy@cart-aid.com. We will respond to your request as required by applicable law. We will not discriminate against you for exercising any of your privacy rights – for example, we won’t deny you services or charge different prices just because you made a privacy request.

Cookies and Tracking Technologies

We use cookies and similar tracking technologies to enhance your experience on Cart-Aid. These technologies help us in several ways:

  • Preferences and Functionality: Cookies allow us to remember your preferences and settings (for instance, keeping you logged in or remembering your location or language choices), and to enable smooth navigation and ordering within the app.
  • Performance and Analytics: We use cookies or analytics tools to understand how users interact with our app. This helps us identify which features are popular, detect issues, and improve the overall performance and reliability of our services. For example, tracking pages or screens visited, and buttons clicked helps us make the app more user-friendly over time.
  • No Advertising Tracking: We do not use third-party advertising cookies or tracking pixels for targeted advertising purposes. Since we do not sell or share your data for advertising, any cookies in use are primarily for the functioning of our service and internal analytics.

You have control over cookies and can adjust your preferences. Most web browsers and mobile devices allow you to manage or disable cookies in the settings. Please note that if you disable certain cookies, some features of Cart-Aid (especially those requiring login or remembering your settings) may not function optimally.

Children’s Privacy

Cart-Aid is not intended for children under the age of 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from minors. If you are under 13, please do not use our service or provide any personal information. If we become aware that a child under 13 has provided us with personal information, we will promptly delete such information from our records. Parents or guardians who believe that we might have unknowingly received information from a child under 13 can contact us at our privacy email to request deletion.

If a parent or guardian provides personal information to Cart-Aid on behalf of a child under 13, we will treat that information as provided with full parental consent. In such instances, the parent or guardian assumes full responsibility for the submission and any use of the child’s personal information. Cart-Aid will not be liable for any consequences that arise from this submission or the use of that information. Unless required by applicable law, we will not monitor or delete such information solely because it pertains to a child under 13.

Data Security

We implement industry-standard security measures to protect your information from unauthorized access, disclosure, alteration, or destruction. This includes physical, administrative, and technical safeguards. For example, sensitive data like payment information is transmitted using encryption (HTTPS/TLS), and we limit access to personal data only to those employees and service providers who need it to perform their duties. For orders placed through Cart-Aid, we do not store your complete payment details on our servers once they are passed to our fulfillment partners—this practice further safeguards your financial information. We also periodically review our security practices to incorporate new technologies and methods.

While we strive to protect all user data, please understand that no system is 100% secure. We cannot guarantee absolute security of information, but we continuously work to update our protections. If there is any indication of a security issue or incident, we will take immediate action to mitigate it. Additionally, our service providers are required to uphold strong security standards as well – any partner handling user data on our behalf must implement robust security measures to safeguard it.

International Users

Cart-Aid is based in the United States, and the infrastructure we use (including servers and cloud services) may be located in the U.S. or other countries. If you access Cart-Aid from outside the United States, be aware that your personal data may be transferred to, processed, and stored in the U.S. or in other countries where our service providers operate. These countries may have data protection laws that are different from those in your country of residence.

However, regardless of where your data is processed, we will handle it in accordance with this Privacy Policy and apply appropriate safeguards to protect it. By using our services, you consent to the transfer of your information to the United States and other jurisdictions as necessary for our operations. If required by your country’s laws, we will take steps to ensure that international data transfers are done lawfully, such as using standard contractual clauses or other legal mechanisms when transferring personal data.

California Privacy Rights (CCPA/CPRA)

If you are a California resident, you are entitled to additional rights under California law (the CCPA, as amended by the CPRA). These rights include:

  • Right to Know: You can request that we disclose the specific pieces of personal information we have collected about you, as well as details about our information practices, such as the categories of data we collect, the sources of that information, the business purposes for collecting it, and the categories of third parties with whom we share it.
  • Right to Delete: You can request that we delete the personal information we have collected from you (subject to certain exceptions allowed by law, such as if the information is necessary to complete a transaction or for safety, legal compliance, etc.).
  • Right to Correct: You can request that we correct inaccurate personal information that we maintain about you.
  • Right to Opt-Out of Sale or Sharing: You have the right to opt out of the sale of your personal information or the “sharing” of your personal information for cross-context behavioral advertising. Note: Cart-Aid does not sell personal information, and we do not share your data with third parties for targeted advertising. If that policy ever changes, we will provide a means for you to exercise this right.
  • Right to Limit Use of Sensitive Information: You can request that we limit the use or disclosure of your sensitive personal information if we were using it for purposes beyond those allowed by law. Again, Cart-Aid only uses sensitive information (like health data) to provide the services you expect (e.g., personalized recommendations) and not for secondary purposes.

To make any privacy requests under California law, you (or your authorized agent) can contact us at privacy@cart-aid.com with the subject line “California Privacy Rights” and specify the nature of your request. We will verify your identity and respond as required by law (generally within 45 days). As stated above, we will not discriminate against you for exercising any of these rights – we provide the same quality of service and pricing whether or not you choose to exercise your California privacy rights. If any financial incentive or loyalty program is ever offered that involves your personal information, we will provide you with appropriate details and obtain your consent in accordance with the law.

Data Breach Notification

In the event of a data breach that involves your personal information, we will promptly notify you and any relevant regulatory authorities as required by applicable law. This means if we discover a security incident that compromises the privacy or security of your personal data, we will inform you about what happened and advise you on any steps you may need to take to protect yourself. We will also take all necessary steps to contain and remediate the breach. Our notification to you will be in plain language and will outline, to the best of our knowledge at the time, the nature of the incident, the data affected, and the actions we are taking. We comply with all legal requirements for breach notification, including those under the FTC’s Health Breach Notification Rule (if applicable) and state laws, to ensure you are kept informed.

Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time to reflect changes in our practices, technologies, legal requirements, or other factors. When we make changes, we will update the “Effective Date” at the top of the policy to indicate when the revisions take effect. For any significant (material) changes, we will also provide a clear notice – for example, by notifying you via email or through an in-app alert – so that you are aware of the updates. We encourage you to review this Privacy Policy periodically to stay informed about how we are protecting your information. Your continued use of Cart-Aid after any changes to this Privacy Policy signifies your acceptance of the revised terms, to the extent permitted by law.
